Sysco Corp. Names New CEO

Sysco Corp. announced that CEO Bill DeLaney will be succeeded by Tom Bene, current president and chief operating officer.

Bene will become president and CEO effective Jan. 1, 2018, and will join Sysco’s board of directors. DeLaney will serve as an advisor to Bene through Dec. 31, 2018.

Jackie Ward, chairman of Sysco’s board, said, “Today’s announcement represents the successful culmination of the board’s long-range leadership succession planning process and will result in an orderly transition. The board is confident that our plan provides a natural progression for Sysco to continue to grow and thrive, and Tom is the ideal candidate to succeed Bill. Since joining Sysco in 2013, Tom has been a key member of our team and has proven himself as a strong leader with extensive industry experience.”
