International Foodservice Manufacturers Association Reveals 2017 Distributor Award Winners

Chicago-based International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA) announced the 2017 11th Annual Distributor Award recipients, who are to be honored at the Distributor Awards ceremony at IFMA’s 55th annual Presidents Conference Nov. 5-7 in Phoenix.

“The 2017 outstanding distribution award winning recipients are the best of the best,” said Larry Oberkfell, president and CEO of IFMA. “Their performance has been recognized by the manufacturers as the new standard for our industry. Congratulations to all companies and their dedicated teams for a job well done!”

US Foods will be honored with IFMA’s Excellence in Distribution Award. The award is given to a company that has demonstrated overall excellence in areas such as management, customer relations, leadership and more. US Foods partners with roughly 250,000 foodservice operators and restaurants, and has over 60 locations and nearly 25,000 employees.

Ben E. Keith Foods is set to receive IFMA’s Distributor Sales & Marketing Performance Award, which is given to a single independent operator or an individual operating company of a distributor that has exhibited superior creative sales and marketing. Ben E. Keith Foods is a privately held broadline distributor based in Fort Worth, Texas, that services 14 states.

Finally, Sysco Corp.’s Bill Day has been named the recipient of IFMA’s Distinguished Industry Achievement Award. This award specifically recognizes leaders who have had a positive impact on the foodservice distribution industry and excelled in areas such as management and marketing. Bill Day started his career at Sysco in 1983 and in 2010 he was named Sysco’s executive vice president of merchandising.
