Global Investment Firm Announces Winner of Eco-Innovation Award

New York City-based global investment firm KKR has announced that US Foods has been awarded KKR’s second annual Eco-Innovation Award. US Foods’ Serve Good product line, which focuses on sustainable food and nonfood products, was the impetus of the award. KKR’s Eco-Innovation Award was launched in 2016 and recognizes one of KKR’s portfolio companies for its strides in creating environmentally friendly solutions that create business value. The winner of the Eco-Innovation Award will receive a financial prize to bolster U.S. Foods' environmental initiatives and expand its Serve Good product line.

“At US Foods, we strive to source and deliver delicious foods while also considering the environmental and social impact of our offerings. As demand for sustainable foodservice products continues to grow, we remain committed to providing our customers with an array of innovative offerings to help them succeed,” said Stacie Sopinka, VP of product development and innovation for US Foods. "We are honored to be recognized by KKR for these efforts and appreciate the years of partnership.”

KKR is global investment firm founded in 1976 that manages assets in private equity, energy, infrastructure, real estate, hedge funds and more.
